How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
40 hours a week. Flexible work hours.
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Jan 2017
40 hours per week. Flexible work times. Can re-negotiate number of days worked, but in general 40 hours per week for a full time employee is too much.
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Jan 2017
Standard work hours are 40 hours/week. However usually spend around 45+ hours at work. That being said there are a lot of flexible hours options available such as working from home, working part time, etc
Graduate, Sydney - 31 Jan 2017
I work 3 days per week, two in the office and one at home. I don't have to work 8 hours straight- I can complete 3 days work over 5 days. With a young child this is very convenient to me.

Start and end times are flexible which is great. Last year the number of hours worked was increased from 37.5hrs/week to 40hrs/week with not a whole lot of notice and few avenues to refuse. This becomes even more difficult when asked to do overtime while balancing other commitments outside the office. AECOM is looking to increase the contingent workforce but I feel that is an insecure option for me at the moment.
Midlevel, Rockhampton - 31 Jan 2017
Extremely flexible. As long as I can charge 40 working hours, this can be at any time of day.
Graduate, Brisbane - 30 Jan 2017
40hr working week but usually extends longer than that including some weekend work at home.
Midlevel, Newcastle - 30 Jan 2017
The company is very flexible in regard to when hours are worked.
Graduate, Sydney - 30 Jan 2017
Very flexible. for a full time employee, at least 40 hours
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jan 2017
Flexible.
Graduate, Sydney - 27 Jan 2017
The hours are very flexible, and they tailor where you work (office or field) based on your feedback.
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jan 2017
Very flexible, you put in the work where it is needed.
Graduate, Brisbane - 27 Jan 2017
OK. In most cases you are only "allowed" to bill 40 hours even if you are doing 50-60 due to project constraints ie 3 person team doing a 5 person job.
Graduate, Sydney - 27 Jan 2017
As long as you get your 40 hours done there is no issue, although for grads you need to be taught how to do your job so generally you stick to the 8-5 days. You can work from home and complete your week as you see fit, it just doesn't make sense to do so early on for reasons outlined above.
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jan 2017
Very flexible between working from home and balancing family / other commitments. Lots of flexible work arrangements that are encourage by senior management
Midlevel, Newcastle - 27 Jan 2017
The company stipulates a flexible hours policy, however within the first 3 weeks of joining the company, the team I was in had me work a weekend, and some weekdays were till 10pm with the team. This is obviously not commensurate with the initial agreement, but would be fine if there was a form of compensation readily available.
Graduate, Sydney - 27 Jan 2017
Work a flexible 4 day week with the option to work a fifth day when it gets busy and suits my family commitments
Executive, Sydney - 25 Jan 2017
Can be demanding depending the project
Graduate, Sydney - 25 Jan 2017
In Brisbane, moderate hours and excellent flexibility. In Sydney and Melbourne, significantly longer hours for about the same rewards. Still flexible, if you can fit in all the necessary hours.
Midlevel, Brisbane - 25 Jan 2017
Flexibility is the new norm. Working in project offices is different where long hours are the norm.
