Currently a lot of my work is done in order to familiarise myself with the process I'm in charge of. I am responsible for a wide range of reporting duties on performance and inventory. I spend a fair amount of time troubleshooting issues and a bit of time of process improvements. As I learn more about the process my focus will primarily be on process improvement.

Ad-hoc analysis as requested on bauxite market, assisting with various presentation materials

Day to day responsibilities include contract management, supplier meetings, end user engagement (phone, email, f2f), data and analytics. My role is to develop and execute spend category management strategies to ensure the business can maximise its third party supplier spend.

There are lots of different and challenging tasks daily, which keep my work very interesting.

Liaise daily with operators, environmental scientists and production staff to assist with process troubleshooting, setting performance targets and forecasting future expected performance. Also while completing project work to provide real value to the company. Involves lots of data collection, hydraulic modelling and engineering calculations.

I am an area chemical engineer, which means it is my role to observe the plant and make key decisions in its day-to-day operation as well as focus energy on the long term picture and the projects that accompany process improvement.

Graduate scientist. I provide site environmental services such as Clearing permits and waste permits, I also complete audits and assist with annual reporting. I compile a lot of data and refine historical collections of information that other scientists don't have the time to complete. I manage contractors where required for land management.

Currently responsible for day to day upkeep of a plant area. As I am new to the role have yet to build towards any longer term projects which is something I hope to begin on soon.

I typically look after product quality, failure investigations, ongoing projects, minimising energy/caustic/water usages and managing environmental/safety concerns in my area. I do a lot of forecasting and shutdown planning also.

I look after the final stage in the Bayer process at one of Alcoa's alumina refineries. My focus is on product quality, so daily monitoring of specifications and making changes to adhere to those specs is a large part of my role. I work on various business improvement projects when not focussing on day to day changes. I spend most of my day on a computer but spend part of my day walking around the process area to understand infield concepts and liaise with operators.
