What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
I started off with a fairly generous graduate salary. After each year of employment there will be a review to increase my base salary (until I am no longer considered a graduate and go onto a full process engineer salary). On top of my salary there is a 5% loading to cover extra costs. There is a maximum 5% bonus providing I have met targets. I receive 14% super.

Pay is fantastic for non fifo work, very competitive. Not much performance incentive for graduates as bonuses are calculated on site wide performance. I believe that earlier in your career individual performance should be weighted much heavier than plant performance. Once you have a bigger role to play in plant performance (such as refinery managers) you can start to weigh the site wide performance heavily.

the pay is okay now, but it increases significantly each year of the grad program, I was paid significantly less to do significantly more as a contractor managing a field section of a company. I have been told that the bonuses used to be significantly higher.

It starts off as less in first year than some other companies but climbs very quickly over the 3 years in the grad program. The bonus is not a significant part of my pay.

While the first year salary is fairly standard compared to other local chemical engineering jobs, the second and third year increases sets the company well ahead of many others.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Best perks would be travel. In the future I will be sent overseas for training.

Leisure Days. Similar to a rostered day off (RDO) but for people in the office.

1 LDO every 4 weeks along with a company wide public holiday once a year. On top of that as graduates we get allocated "grad days" for professional development and collaboration with other grads and extra days for external professional training.

Have sent me on courses to further my skills and covered the expenses. We have a very good graduate program where we are able to meet up regularly and bond as a team and get to know each other which is really nice
