They try to engage the community and sponsor stuff, and do a fair bit; but it all seems a bit PR motivated.

This is something that is done well. There are lots of opportunities for employees to engage with corporate citizenship volunteer type opportunities - e.g. supporting charities or events with time or donations, mentoring students etc.

Individuals can participate in donations and activities which occur occasionally, from planting trees to lump sum payment deductions from pay.

There is REACH and STEM and the Social Club. If you are involved in one of those you find out about a few activities. Unfortunately, there isn't all that many networking opportunities for other like-minded industry companies.

They have a few projects every now and then, like helping women support groups and clean up Australia. I've never been involved (because I'm dead inside).
