generally, all managers are supportive of your learning development and career. they would make time for you to catch up over a cup of coffee.

My MOR is great, and I have been supported by them.

I guess the relations with management is very good as we always have one on ones, development discussions and performance feedback

Managers are good at working with their team members to achieve individual career and growth goals. Fortnightly catch ups are the norm, however they are often rescheduled.

Direct managers are fantastic with communication and feedback however contact with more senior management is limited particularly outside of Sydney.

I've had two managers here. The first was a technical lead, he was very accessible and an excellent mentor. He was always happy to help me out, I felt very comfortable asking him questions and he always seemed to have my best interests (vs the company's) at heart. He encouraged me to try out UX although it meant I would be leaving his team. He had a real passion for mentoring. My second manager is a senior designer, and is slightly less accessible due to the nature of his work (more meetings etc). I would say he is more manager than mentor, but he does take the time every fortnight to sit down with me, talk through any feedback he has for me and my development plan. He's been supportive of my training in UX and tries to get me work in the sub-areas of UX where I want to get more development.

Management is very approachable and always willing to meet with anyone if they have the time.

Very wide range of experiences on this front. With so many managers there is a variety of styles some of which are good, others less so.

Some managers are pretty great, others completely suck. It is a very hit or miss.

So far my immediate managers (and once-removed managers) have been fantastic. They are all busy of course, but still manage time to catch up, stop by for small talk, and provide feedback. These managers have been one of the highlights.

Very dependent on manager. Internal recognition is often team based, and feedback is given during regular team retros and one on ones with manager.

Great Managers that believe in your development. Constantly praise and provide feedback. I have no concern about communications with any Manager.
