Daimler Truck and Bus is looking for a dynamic and innovative university student to join the business as a Freightliner Technical Product Assistant. Our 2020 IBL Program will expose you to real jobs, real experiences and real learning which will allow you to gain valuable workplace experience relevant to your chosen field of study. This one year opportunity to learn and work alongside our experienced team of Engineers and Sales professionals will aim to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to accelerate your learning and gain valuable exposure to our brand, values and purpose- ensuring you are contributing to All Who Keep The World Moving.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Freightliner Technical Product Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the development of the Freightliner product range and all product related activities in support of the business unit's sales and profit objectives. Key tasks will include assisting in the maintenance of product systems, providing technical support to the factory ordering team including responding to technical questions, supporting the Sales and Application Engineer to generate and revise technical drawings and supporting the Product Planning Team by assisting with the development of business cases and vehicle specifications, collating industry data and researching industry trends and developments.

You will need to commit to full-time office hours until end of January 2020.
What we are looking for:
You are an undergraduate student currently completing your second year or have at least one year of your tertiary qualification remaining in Engineering (as at January 2020). As one of the successful candidates, you will apply your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build positive business relationships. With a mechanical aptitude and the ability to handle complex structures and systems, you will be flexible in tasks undertaken and keen to learn with a genuine interest in the automotive industry. Your strong presentation and organisational skills along with your ability to think analytically will be vital to your success in this role.

This is a local, contract role. You must have a valid working visa for Australia / New Zealand for the entire length of the contract, to be able to apply for this position.
