About the Opportunity: Undergraduate Contaminated Land Consultant

Jacobs has a rewarding opportunity for an Intern to join our Contaminated Land team over summer.
 
The purpose of this role is to provide undergraduate level support to contaminated land assessment and management within our Melbourne team. You will be given the opportunity to display and build on the skills you have been taught at University whilst also being exposed to the wider industry. 

A typical day in the life of this role will involve: 

  • Assisting with the preparation of sampling and field work plans.
  • Organising and supporting field work activities including sample collection in the field.
  • Completing data assessment processes and contributing to interpretation and report writing.
  • Participating in the preparation of tender bids to external and internal clients.
  • Undertaking internal training in technical and management skills. 

From day one you’ll be part of our team, and encouraged to contribute your thoughts and ideas in an open, communicative environment. We’ll assist you to gain specialised training to work within the contaminated land industry.

About you

The successful candidate will:

  • Complete your degree in 2019 (Environmental Science, Contaminated Land, Civil Engineering or similar)
  • Be technically inquisitive
  • Possess strong leadership skills
  • Have the ability to work independently and in a team to learn from another perspective
  • Communicate exceptionally well
  • Ask questions and challenge the norm
  • Be able to commence on 19 November 2018 and work through to March 2019 
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident
