We know you've studied hard and might not know exactly what you want to do when you finish your degree. We understand it's not always easy to find your way. Our Summer Intern Program is designed to back you in this early stage of your career, to help you develop the skills, knowledge and network with which to build an exciting and inspiring career, no matter where it takes you.

How our Summer Intern Program works:

Our Program consists of four one-week Employability and Future Skills rotations followed by a 3-week immersive business placement. You'll not only gain insights into the banking and finance industry but also into core professional skills. You'll be provided career coaching and an action plan to determine what you want from your career and how to achieve it.

Regardless of the business area you choose, our Summer Intern Program is a worthwhile investment in your future. You'll attend a banking fundamentals workshop, learn customer relationship skills, attend an employability bootcamp and participate in a business challenge, all whilst having the opportunity to network and attend social events. You'll be surprised at the skills you develop and the friends you make along the way.

At the end of our program, you'll have the opportunity to apply and receive an early offer for our Graduate Program the following year.

Summer Intern Program dates:

You'll need to be free to commence full time employment for 7 weeks (exclusive of 3 weeks unpaid leave over the festive period).

Pros and cons of working at NAB AU

Pros

  • Opportunity to move around teams outside my rotation to get a better understanding of areas of personal interest.

  • The culture, people & opportunities

  • Learning & Development Opportunity

  • Going through 3 rotations in 3 different teams thus getting exposure through a number of places within the company.

  • NAB has an outstanding culture premised on equality and merit.

Cons

    • Inability to choose or preference rotation places.

    • Technology and communication, although there is lots of work and improvements being made in these areas now.

    • Certain teams are not as concerned about graduate development as others.

    • I commute about 2 hours each way to get to and from work.

    • My current role is process heavy - and it is easy to get caught up in the grind of punching out what needs to be done.
