What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
After being here for a short time, I can't really comment, however from my knowledge it is under the current average
Graduate - 30 Jan 2020
It's good to have bonuses as we keep moving forward in our career.
Graduate, Canberra - 29 Jan 2020
The salary package includes the base salary and a PD allotment.
Graduate, Melbourne - 28 Jan 2020
Our salary is very reasonable and if we suggest someone for a recruitment round and they successfully get the job then we receive a great bonus. We also get a set amount of Professional Development spending which we can choose how to spend, as long as it's related to business interests.
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Jan 2020
I have only had exposure to the early starting graduate salary; I am aware that this salary, along with all the other benefits that working at Nova Systems offers, is competitive. However, I believe that due to the high-quality work and the responsibility that the graduates take on within their first year, a pay increase should come sooner than it does. As a passing comment, the current economic situation with inflation is difficult for young people who have spent a great length of time at university, and a full-time graduate position comes at a crucial point in a person's career when they have large upfront capital costs in establishing independence (moving out of home, buying a car etc.) A comfortable salary can alleviate stress and enable employees more time to focus on solving the problems that really matter and providing value at work.

The salary is probably on par with most graduate engineering roles but is not as high as I would like. The extra bonus allowance for professional development is great though, to be spent on your choice of course to help expand your knowledge and assist your job prospects.
Graduate, Melbourne - 05 Dec 2019
Pay is fairly middle of the road, bonuses are fairly limited.
Graduate, Adelaide - 05 Dec 2019
Seems to be the average and they make sure that you are rewarded for good work. I was assured when I was first hired that there was no gender pay gap apparent
Midlevel, Adelaide - 04 Dec 2019
The pay at Nova is on par. It is not as appealing as some of the other organisations. There are bonuses available each year as well in addition to the incremental pay increase.
Graduate, Canberra - 04 Dec 2019
The first year salary is less than some other programs I have seen, but there is lots of room to grow!

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
There provide relocation leave and money for moving. The annual conferences are great fun where hotels, flights and food are paid for.

Midlevel, Canberra - 28 Jan 2020
Mid-Year dinner, graduate conference, regional conference, national conference, monthly lunches, novated leasing, access to free mental health services, access to Defence health insurance.

Graduate, Adelaide - 16 Dec 2019
I have had the opportunity to travel for work and as such, I am slowly saving up my Qantas frequent flyer points! This was an exciting and unexpected perk. Being able to travel for work has also enabled me to do some minor site-seeing of Australian cities. The professional development allowance is also a great incentive to attend conferences and participate in activities that broaden your career horizons. As such, I had the opportunity to attend an international conference as part of this.
Graduate, Adelaide - 06 Dec 2019
The 3-day annual conference held every year, where Nova pays for all of their employees to attend (in a different state each year), accommodation, food, drink and flights all included. Also the regional conference held for each state over a weekend during the year, where partners and families are invited to attend for a more casual, family friendly socialising event.
Graduate, Melbourne - 05 Dec 2019
Professional development fund. Annual company conference.
Graduate, Adelaide - 05 Dec 2019
Professional Development Fund. You get allocated $5000 in addition to your base pay to use purely on professional development activities, meaning they are helping you learn new skills
Midlevel, Adelaide - 04 Dec 2019
Christmas Hampers, Yearly Group Conference where all employees get together for 3 days in a different city, Birthday vouchers, regional events
Graduate, Canberra - 04 Dec 2019
Lunch of the month (free lunch every month), 3 day Conference where the entire company comes together, Grad Summit (all grads from the whole company get together)
Graduate, Canberra - 04 Dec 2019
There is a Nova conference each year, where the company flights everyone, from all the offices to one place for 3 days. There is a gala dinner that everyone attends in safari suits or kaftans, its always lots of fun!
