Rio pride themselves on been a diverse and modern company. Which I strongly support as it brings experience from around the world which overall makes us a better company.

As a female engineer, I've experience no discrimination in the workplace and also found that the gender ratio amongst young engineers here is quite balanced.

seems pretty good to me, haven't heard anyone mention anything in relation to any of it.

I think the diversity within the company is fantastic.

There is a strong focus on inclusion and diversity across all parts of the business. This includes white ribbon accreditation and a mutual maternity/paternity policy that allows the same amount of leave for both genders. The need to include ethnic minorities is also highly addressed particularly at an operational level. All of these aspects trickle throughout the business including recruitment.

Very little LGBT visibility. Recruitment has strong targets for gender and indigenous workers (which they frequently exceed). Child care options seem non-existent. Maternity (and paternity) leave is good, with a global policy so that all workers have the same entitlements. Still less than 50% women in ExCo.

They hire plenty of Aboriginals, which is good.

Haven't seen anything other than indigenous cohorts (ethnicity rather than socio-economic, although this group does usually reside in the latter).
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Feb 2018
The company provides many assistance programs to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds, particularly in local communities in which they operate.
