For an artificial lift engineer, the training program includes on the job training and training schools. The training programs first include one on all artificial lift methods implemented by the company, then another training program for 4 weeks on electrical submersible pump theory, design, installation and programming. Later on, I will return to Abu Dhabi to take courses in surface equipment for variable speed drives and application engineering courses.

The Fixed-Step Training Program at Schlumberger is very well designed. I'm currently at school for 3 months which is part of Step 1, after school I'll return to the base and continue on with my learning and going out on real jobs.
