HR Graduate at Stockland
The highlights so far have been both the variety and challenging HR projects I have been fortunate to work on. Working on projects where you are able to immediately see the impact within a team whether it being implementing a new process or initiative. The level of trust, exposure and opportunities provided gives you the opportunity to develop and grow in your role. The support provided talks a lot about what Stockland believes and stands for.
As a graduate at Stockland, you’re treated with respect from day one. You are working and learning alongside a talented, committed and passionate team who want to help you succeed. First impressions are important, and from my very first interview through to the last was positive! I was able to gain a true understanding of Stockland’s culture and what it would be like to work at Stockland.
My role as a HR Graduate varies on a daily basis, however currently I am working alongside the Senior HRBP for Residential business providing solutions, insights and support. Building strong relationships is essential as you work closely with on business initiatives and priorities. I also spend time with the HR Services, providing general HR advice and support to our current and future employees.
The HR Graduate Program is 2 years in length, and consists of a variety of rotations in Business & Corporate HR. The benefit of the rotations provides exposure to all aspects of HR where I am able to gain a true understanding of how the various teams in HR work. I have completed rotations in Performance & Reward, HR Services and I am currently working in HR Business Partnering, supporting the Residential business giving me the opportunity to build and develop my communication and influencing skills. Being a part of the graduate program also consists of development training days with the other graduates. Focusing on specific areas that are critical to develop along with discussing the challenges and learning’s, building a strong and supportive network.
Being involved in volunteering has not only been rewarding it has also allowed me to meet new people from different areas of the business and grow my network to gain support, which has made the journey even more fun!
My top tip to candidates applying for a Graduate Role is to be open and honest. Don’t be afraid to show your personality and achievements, so be proud of them!
