Does working for one of the world's leading Quantitative Trading firms excite you?
Are you looking for a fast-paced but down to earth environment, where the people are what make us successful?
If so, we are looking for passionate and talented Software Developers to join our 2020 Graduate Program commencing next January.
The Role
Our Software Developers underpin the foundations that allow our traders to do their work, by integrating sophisticated coding techniques with innovative engineering ideas. You'll design and optimize systems that can process massive amounts of data while ensuring high performance and stability.
SIG provides you with the opportunity to sharpen your technical skills, learn about the trading industry, and understand the fundamentals of risk-based decision making. With guidance and mentoring from your team, you'll get hands-on experience beginning on your first day.
What you'll do
How you'll learn
Our graduate Software Developers hit the ground running – we believe the best way to learn is by doing. You will spend your first 6 months learning from our senior developers, rotating through 2 or 3 of our various tech teams and have a customised learning and development plan.
You will get introduced to our environment and the specific technologies you will use at SIG. You will get exposure to different areas of the firm. Here are a few of the learning opportunities you will have during your first year:

Who we are:
Founded in 1987, SIG has grown from an options trading firm in the United States to one of the world's largest privately held financial institutions. Today, with offices around the world, we trade almost every major financial product. We are recognised for our disciplined and quantitative trading approach and our leading-edge trading systems. Our Asia Pacific headquarters was established here in Sydney in 1998, and we now have over 130 employees working in Trading, Technology, Quantitative Research and Operations.
If you ask employees why they like SIG, they'll almost always say the same thing: the people. We like spending time with each other both in and out of the office. We have fun improving our decision-making skills and analytical thinking by playing poker, we like to go out in the city, and we enjoy heading out to the cricket, fun runs and festivities throughout the year. Each July and December we also get together for a well-deserved formal celebration.
Our advice to software developers joining us is to be curious and collaborative and be personally accountable for your work and outcomes. Persevere and speak up, and don't be afraid to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table – you are, after all, the future of SIG!
