Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
Small team, very little socialising outside of work hours but very friendly at work - most of my team have children and work flexibly, really supportive colleagues and very caring

Good culture - encouraged to have a work life balance and flexible working hours.

The internal office culture appears to be primarily positive, though I have not been in a situation in which the culture has really been put to the test. There is a noticeable prevalence of negative gossip. The department is very hierarchical. Workers tend to be cooperative. There does appear to be some socializing of colleagues after work.

Collaborative, honest, friendly

Great flexibility, options to work remotely Good social scene if you get to know the right people and are willing to interact with other groups in the department and the wider VPS.

Varies from team to team, quite work centric in my current role but everyone is still pleasant to work with.

Kind and fair.

In my experience, the Department's culture is very supportive and nurturing for new employees, it prides itself on diversity and inclusiveness along with emphasising the opportunities to work flexibly. Personally, my fellow team members help to create a very friendly and jovial work environment, whilst supporting each other and utilising the capacity within the team to cooperate and achieve key outcomes. Outside of office hours, my immediate team are quite social and we generally enjoy catching-up for drinks and/or dinner once a month or so.

Colleagues are friendly across hierarchy, but sometimes there is a disconnect between teams. Took me some time to get to know people

The corporate culture is very friendly. There is a lot of socializing at breaks. The age of employees starts from late 20's to 50's. Being early 20's, sometimes it is hard to relate and make friendships.

Being the public service, the structure and hierarchy is very clearly defined. There is a high level of cooperation and teamwork, tasks are often shared around, and I often help other work areas when they are overloaded (and vice versa). It's very social, and there are often after hours social events, outings, etc.

Everybody I have met has been very supportive and offered help whenever I have needed it, this includes staff outside of my office as well.
Graduate, Benalla - 04 Jun 2018
Very cooperative culture. People are encouraged to be open and bring whole self to work. Managers and directors can always make time for you.

DELWP has a good culture of teamwork and helping colleagues in busy times. There is not a fend-for-yourself culture, nor is there pressure to undermine or outcompete colleagues to advance. There is a very strong emphasis on flexible working and work-life balance. There is not a culture of needing to stay back after-hours to complete tasks or 'look hardworking', particularly for mid-level staff.

Fairly good, Monday morning quiz and morning teas are a bonus! People are easy to talk to even if they are much higher in the hierarchy e.g. director. Teamwork is big - having people able to work together to get the jobs done.

Good culture at work, everyone is very nice. Quite an old demographic though. Outside of work people generally are not keen to hang out as there are few people my age in the office.
