What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Really good pay - especially upon finishing the graduate program which prepares you really well for roles with more responsibility
Midlevel, Melbourne - 08 Jun 2018
Pay is not so great as an initial grad but the opportunity to act up in different roles are available. Bonuses aren't really much but it's the sentiment and every 6 months the wages are adjusted for inflation- which is really fair!

Bonuses - OT when working in my emergency role (General Firefighter)
Graduate, Ovens - 07 Jun 2018
Pay is good as most positions, including starter positions, are above the Australian median salary
Graduate - 07 Jun 2018
I'm just really grateful to get stable income and have a manageable budget while living out on my own.
Graduate, Melbourne - 06 Jun 2018
Pay is appropriate considering the work-life balance that is encouraged
Midlevel, Melbourne - 06 Jun 2018
Could be more in comparison to other graduate positions filled by university students. However, the learning and development opportunities make up for it.
Graduate, Melbourne - 05 Jun 2018
Starting base salary is reasonable, taking on a fire/emergency role is a good way to earn some overtime and extra allowances.
Graduate, Traralgon - 05 Jun 2018
Pay is arranged in brackets. While some may see this as stifling ambition and incentives to work harder, it also results in fairness and transparency for employees and there are ways to progress if performance targets are met. The pay level is good.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 04 Jun 2018
Adequate
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Jun 2018
Pay structure is clear and seems fairly easy to progress through. I don't know if bonuses are given
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Jun 2018
Pay is average for a graduate. Can't really expect anything else.
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Jun 2018
The grad pay is a little low to start with (however I think the perks of the grad program make up for it), but in general the public service pay is very fair and clearly structured.
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Jun 2018
Reliable payment

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
No bonuses since the Department is part of the public service.
Graduate - 07 Jun 2018
No perks, government, only the learning and development opportunities
Midlevel, Melbourne - 07 Jun 2018
Flexibility in start and finish times, lunch times, break times. Travel time included in work hours, learning and development budget, company paid cars for errands.
Graduate, Melbourne - 06 Jun 2018
Free meals when you're doing the hard yards in emergency management with 12 hour work days.
Graduate, Melbourne - 06 Jun 2018
Pay for moving expenses during the program for rotations.
Graduate, Melbourne - 05 Jun 2018
Fleet of vehicles for work purposes, Graduates get an L&D budget :)
Graduate, Hamilton (now)/ Inverleigh (in 2017) - 04 Jun 2018
Everyone on the science grad program has a $7500 L&D budget that they can spend on L&D outside of their current work area (L&D that you need to do your job is paid for by your team). You also get moving expenses covered and a few paid days off to move between your different placements.
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Jun 2018
Discount to some training organisations
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Jun 2018
DELWP does not offer 'perks' for reasons of public accountability. This is appropriate. Rewarding performance is restricted to income, where it can be done transparently. However, work-related travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the department.

Learning and development budget.
