Very simple, easy process to apply. Process is face to face rather than online or assessment centre which I prefer.

Once the applications are submitted, you will be contacted for an interview. After the interview, you would be contacted again for references and other necessary assessment.

Online application, followed by an online recorded interview then finally an interview.

My interview process was for my internship, after which i was offered a Graduate role. For my internship, I undertook psychometric and mathematic testing, which was followed by a phone interview.

How would you solve problems in various situations

Personnel questions, based on difficulties, achievements and ambition

A large number of safety based questions and anecdotal evidence of how you react in situations. A lot was talking from previous experience. They asked if I had any questions and why I wanted to work for the company.

Investigate this company's history and legacy and what has happened during the transition from Shell to Viva and how that has affected the corporate structure of the company.

Research the company before attending the interview, be critical with oneself before entering interview.

Research what Viva is all about, their culture and their business

Understand the 'Viva behaviours' as they resonate strongly throughout the company. See how you show them and convey this in everything you submit

Read up on the company, it has a very interesting history. Overall, be yourself and show how eager you are. I did not have the best grades and have two years left in my degree, but I really wanted to work for Viva Energy. I tried to show this as much as possible in my interview and I guess it paid off.

Research the company, who they are and what they are about, it will greatly help toward the interview and provide much needed direction when working.

It would be great for interested participants to think about some of the popular interview questions out there. I.e. know your strengths and weakness, past project experiences from work/university. They can come in handy when you are asked to discuss your characteristics.
