What is our Internship Program?
Our paid ten-week program is a great way to explore a career with Westpac Group and give you a taste of what it is like to work for us. It is designed to ensure that our interns get an insight into the banking and finance industry – allowing you to make an informed career decision. Whichever business area you choose, you will find a worthwhile investment of your time this summer. Plus, what could be more rewarding than the possibility to return to university with your graduate job offer in hand?
Am I Eligible?
We welcome applications from university students in their penultimate year of an undergraduate or post graduate degree that are due to complete their studies by December 2019. We also ask that all applicants hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship. The program runs for 10 weeks from December to February and talented interns will also have the opportunity to be considered for the Graduate Program in 2020.

We aim to act as a trusted advisor to our customers, partnering with them across both their day to day and strategic aspects of their businesses.
Each intern will be allocated to a particular team and will work alongside experienced analysts and relationship managers.

Westpac Group lives and breathes our vision to be one of the world’s great service companies.
Diverse experiences
The opportunities for career advancement, high performance culture
Experience & exposure to different areas
Great opportunities for networking Flexible work hours Is customer focus and does live by its values
Very flexible working arrangements, good culture
level of administrative processes
The structure of the graduate program, requires a little more clarity.
A lot of technology work is outsourced.
Very few international opportunities. Time it takes to get things done, bureaucracy.
Guidance seems to depend more on the team you're in and the people around you than HR. The graduate program seems to be heavily dependent on the stream managers - with little involvement from the wider graduate HR group.
