Group Data plays a critical role in helping to execute the data strategy and deliver analytical insight across Westpac Group, which will drive value for our customers, keep the bank safe and enable regulatory compliance.

On our Graduate Program you'll gain an insight into how we use data to solve complex business problems, as you rotate through a selection of data and analytics teams. You will be part of a community of data professionals, with access to new technologies and flexible career pathways.

We are looking for Graduates who are studying and/or have a keen interest in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or Physics.

During the 18-month program you will rotate through three teams, providing you with the business knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed in a career in data and analytics. Your development will include on-the-job learning and support as well as structured learning opportunities, building both the breadth and depth of your knowledge.

At the end of the Graduate program you will move into a permanent role where you will continue your career journey.

    • level of administrative processes

    • The structure of the graduate program, requires a little more clarity.

    • A lot of technology work is outsourced.

    • Very few international opportunities. Time it takes to get things done, bureaucracy.

    • Guidance seems to depend more on the team you're in and the people around you than HR. The graduate program seems to be heavily dependent on the stream managers - with little involvement from the wider graduate HR group.
