The Bachelor of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying covers a comprehensive range of subjects in the fields of construction management and quantity surveying, focusing on the management and delivery of complex construction projects. The curriculum addresses a range of topics including construction technology, construction techniques, plant and equipment, site management, contract administration, building measurement, planning processes and risks. The program is accredited by the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). The program also meets the educational requirements of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) for attainment of an Open Builders License.
The Bachelor of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying will provide you with access to a wide range of career pathways in the construction industry. Opportunities include building and construction management, contract administration, site management, facilities management, building services, quantity surveying, property development, project management, cost management and general management. The skill sets obtained in this degree may also be applied to related sectors such as civil engineering and mining. Students graduating with the Bachelor of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying are internationally recognised by RICS as well as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).. Foundation subjects (21)The final semester of this program is highlighted by an industry based capstone project which integrates the full range of topics covered during the degree.
Subject credits may be awarded for previous studies. To apply for credits, you will need to submit academic transcripts including detailed subject outlines/course descriptions for each relevant subject and/or certified copies of testamurs to the Office of Future Students.
