This qualification provides a pathway into the primary trades in the construction industry with the exception of plumbing. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through Australian Apprenticeships and this Certificate II allows for inclusion of skills suited to entry level off-site occupations such as joinery, shop-fitting, carpentry, bricklaying and other occupations in general construction. The Certificate II in Construction Pathways is designed to introduce learners to the recognised trade callings in the construction industry and provides meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship. Many of the core units of competency also found in Certificate III qualifications. The elective units in this qualification cover a specialist field of work. This qualification is suitable for VET in Secondary Schools (VSS).
