About this course

CQUniversity's Bachelor of Medical Imaging is designed to prepare you to work as a Radiographer and enables you to provide safe and accurate imaging examinations in a wide range of clinical environments.

You will be trained in a new state-of-the-art, purpose-built environment based at CQUniversity Mackay and use the latest technology to ensure you graduate work-ready.

Your education and training will focus on developing key competencies so you become confident in digital technology, community engagement and remote and rural innovation.

By completing extensive work placements you will gain practical experience and be able to apply your skills and knowledge in a real-world setting. There may also be international exchange opportunities if you wish to travel and study. This is the only medical imaging course in Australia that offers you the option of studying the first year of the course by online study, providing you with the flexibility to balance your study, work and life commitments.

Entry requirements

If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or United States of America, you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.

Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion within the last 5 years of:

a secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA of 4.0

completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or United states of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores as below:

an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 7.0 overall with a minimum 7.0 for Reading and Writing and 7.0 for Speaking and Listening, or
an Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components.

English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.
