Certificate
The Certificate II in Animal Studies is an ideal entry point into the animal care and management industry. This qualification prepares students for entry into sectors of the animal care and management industry, where workers provide care for animals in workplaces such as pet shops, animal shelters, kennels, catteries, groomers, sanctuaries and veterinary clinics. The Certificate II in Animal Studies is a pathway into other qualifications such as the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
There are no entry requirements.
Mathematics, English and Science to a Year 10 level will be required for the content covered in the Certificate II in Animal Studies.
Students must have an organised work placement or casual work whilst undertaking this qualification as there are practical assessments to be completed by a third party. Students are responsible for finding their own placement.
Job role titles covered by this qualification may include animal care attendant, animal shelter attendant, kennel hand, cattery attendant, pet shop attendant, assistant dog groomer, trainee veterinary nurse.
