Sustainability at Aurecon Australia

Aurecon has all relevant ISO accreditation and most major cities have a Sustainability Committee. We are always looking at ways to remove our footprint.

There is more work to be done, but publicly stating that no design will be done for new large coal plants is a good step.

Being the company that we are, environmental footprint plays a huge role in the way we work. There are constantly talks in that office that revolves around our company's green initiatives. The company is very encouraging of people taking public transport and riding a bike into work. In order to reduce our environmental footprint, we have introduced company car pool cars for employees, especially those who have to meet clients regularly, which enables us to optimise our utilisation, leading to minimised running costs and environmental impacts.

More could be done internally on green initiatives but with such a large company it can be difficult.

There is still paper involved, but as an engineering firm there are still times where paper is much more preferable to electronic. My company's real efforts are in the work we produce where environmental concerns are considered across a vast majority of our projects.
