Working Hours at Australian Bureau Of Statistics (ABS)

How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Very flexible. They work on flexitime meaning you can start and finish when you like as long as you are working roughly the 7.5 hours a day. If you work less one day, then you just need to make it up later in the week. No expectation to work more than the 7.5 hours a day, but if you do, those hours "bank up" and you can do a shorter day later.

ABS uses flextime, which allows me to work when I need to and feel flexible enough to work around other things I need to do. No huge need to panic when you sleep in a miss the bus in the morning, though I try pretty hard not to.

I like to start earlier in the day so that I have time after work for other tasks. This means that I generally come into the office around 8 and leave around 4.30. I'm able to take longer lunches (2 hours) when needed, knowing that I'll need to make up this time with longer days later.

Required 7:25 days, with flextime to account for any surplus/deficit. Very flexible working arrangements.

Extremely flexible working environment. Not only do we have flex arrangements where you can build hours etc. but we all are provided with laptops and are given the opportunity to work from home.

I work part time (27.5 hrs/week). This includes flex time which allows overtime to be accumulated which means taking time off for appointments or family responsibilities is rather simple.
