Culture at BP Australia

7.9
7.9 rating for Culture, based on 16 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The people of friendly and interesting. They are fun but responsible outside of hours. Hierarchy is flat but strategic decisions are made by senior management with little involvement of middle and lower level employees.

Casual and friendly Grads are well connected and social
Midlevel, Melbourne - 26 May 2017
Everyone is actually nice, and completely willing to help. It's a very relationship-driven organisation, where networking is key. Networking is key, but the networking doesn't feel fake or inorganic. It is the kind of place that you can talk about your weekend.

Friendly culture

Teamwork is a core value and is highly encouraged. Senior leaders are accessible, especially to graduates. The culture is one that celebrates successes and embraces flexible working.

There is a culture of openness and flexibility. I appreciate that I'm allowed to work from home, even as a graduate and my manager understands that because I live far from work, it's more convenient for me at times.

Positive work culture - you are encouraged to learn more about the company. Distinct structure. Cooperation is encouraged. Socialising happens but is more prevalent in some teams more than others.

The culture is excellent both in the office and after hours. The structure is becoming more integrated (less siloed) and the hierarchy is quite flat on a day-to-day basis. Cooperation and teamwork is positively evolving as the business adopts a more integrated view. Currently, cooperation and teamwork is strong within departments (e.g. finance, sales & marketing) but less so between. There are many opportunities in which colleagues are encouraged to socialise - taking lunch breaks, social club events, office events, team coffee catch-ups and dinners. However, the culture does vary between departments (more traditional in Finance, more youthful and casual in Sales & Marketing). Overall, everyone is very friendly and supportive.

Great culture through both company structured and "non-official" socialising

Nice culture but no sense of purpose; common goal amongst people

Good company culture and support network, including network of young engineers for both in office and after hours activities. Lots of work to be done however.
