Pros & Cons

  • Full of opportunities. Supportive staff
  • I gained a lot of technical skills
  • Potential foot in the door of desired company and relocation reimbursement
  • Access to an array of blue-chip financial companies that otherwise would've been too competitive to enter via internal graduate programs
  • The stories that I get day-to-day. I work in a high-pressure environment and I truly believe it brings out the best in me and my colleagues. We all look back and laugh at our decisions
  • We get trained in Software Development principles and languages, including SQL, Bash and Java. We also have the option to learn JavaScript, html and CSS in our own time, which is helpful with the projects
  • We have to go through further rounds of interviews to be placed with a client once training is over

They do a lot of fundraising for social causes and our garbage disposal is one of the most efficient and clean in the city.

Culture

Culture
The company promotes a 'Work Hard, Play Hard' culture, in which you're heavily rewarded for the amount you put in, but the company is rather process-driven, as opposed to outcome-driven - the 'Work Hard Play Hard' culture is promoted through extensive social events/activities that are organised including work drinks, games nights, etc.

Office Work Environment
The offices are really good, with open plan common areas and large rooms, with nice views of Barangaroo. There is free tea and coffee. The dress code is formal but there are occasionally casual Fridays.

Salary
This early in my career, I don't expect a massive salary, but the pay is enough for me to be comfortable.

Training

Training
The training stream is very good. Software development training is based on what clients look for in a graduate/junior role and bring even complete beginners to a good standard of programming within twelve weeks.

Work Hours

Work Hours
Contracted hours are 09:00 - 17:30 but upon deployment with clients, it really depends on client company culture with working hours.

Sustainability
The company is located in International Towers, which is very committed to recycling and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills. There are very clear instructions on how to dispose of rubbish, and notices on reducing water consumption.
