We are looking for passionate, high-performing and motivated students to join our Industry Based Learning Program commencing in January 2020. This 6-month program enables penultimate and final year undergraduate students to gain valuable work experience in a global pharmaceutical business focused on enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer.

We are looking for interns with ambition, passion and a proactive approach. You will be a clear, effective communicator who can quickly build rapport with a wide range of people. You are a real team player who actively collaborates with others. In addition, you'll have an analytical mind and a talent for multi-tasking.

Work cross functionally and engage with a variety of stakeholders through Corporate Affairs support across internal and external communications, including employee engagement activities, brand communications campaigns, corporate profiling and issues management. Develop and implement strategies for GSK Australia's social media tools and communications to support the corporate brand.

Why you?

  • You must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate degree in Media, Communications or Marketing upon commencement of the program in January 2020
  • An interest in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry is favourable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with initiative and an eagerness to learn
  • High attention to detail, rigor and process, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management, to manage and prioritise multiple ongoing projects
  • Ability to quickly build strong internal & external networks

Timeline & Assessment Process

Applications close 1st November. Our recruitment process involves eligibility and motivation questionnaire at application, online testing, a video interview and an assessment centre. We're keen to see applications from students studying a Bachelor's of Media, Communications or Marketing who will be in their final or penultimate year of study in 2020.

    • The work itself wasn't aligned to my work goals and career aspirations, possibly the job description wasn't accurate when I applied.

    • Complex structures and multiple locations made it hard to service all businesses equally

    • Pay is low, not many opportunities to move/ grow
