The Production Supply Procurement Function based in Ermington supports the consumer goods division of GSK. We provide vendor relationship management, compliance and cost savings initiatives across packaging, raw material and indirect categories.

Activities you will assist with include:

  • Supplier relationship management and supplier improvement programs
  • Compliance/risk activities
  • Contract negotiation, preparation and reporting/renewal
  • The delivery of key procurement projects and analysis of data/process to identify opportunities
  • Understanding Vendor base and operations including vendor visits.
  • Analysis of tender activities and potential supplier information, providing recommendations where appropriate

What we're looking for in a candidate?

  • You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelors Degree in Business/Commerce
  • An interest in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry is favourable
  • Strong passion and interest in the placement field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Excel)
  • Initiative and an eagerness to learn
  • High attention to detail, rigor and process
  • Excellent project management, to manage and prioritise multiple ongoing projects
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to learn quickly
  • Teamwork, ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving skills

    • Very fast paced environment

    • The role was sometimes too repetitive.

    • The work itself wasn't aligned to my work goals and career aspirations, possibly the job description wasn't accurate when I applied.

    • Complex structures and multiple locations made it hard to service all businesses equally

    • Time management

    • Pay is low, not many opportunities to move/ grow
