Pros and cons of working at Grant Thornton AU

Pros

  • The trust that the partners and managers show the team in the flexibility of working arrangements, autonomy of work and allowing us to take reign and control of our career progression.

  • Plenty of variety in work tasks, flexibility in work hours and locations and very supportive team members

  • The firm is extremely flexible with working arrangements.

  • Welcoming, friendly and fun people.

  • People are very skilled.

Cons

    • Career advancement, sometimes the hours can get a lot (especially during audit busy season)

    • Corporate Tax has a steep learning curve, but it has been made much easier with the support of the team!

    • Salary could be better considering the amount of work we are expected to do. We can work long hours depending on the season

    • Very fast paced, hard to be on top of everything. Often life gets left behind when work takes precedence. Busy season = no work life balance. Just need to remember this is a pretty standard stepping stone for most people and people will leave very quickly.

    • Lack of organisation within the department
