Training & Personal Development at Grant Thornton

There are regular technical training sessions within the firm, and seniors/managers are more than happy to teach

Yearly training sessions held which incorporates every office in Australia. Few training sessions during the year dependant on if regulations change etc.

Training is often aimed for the whole team meaning it is often very technical and expects a fair amount of prior knowledge. There is no 'basic' training provided at my level.

Excessive junior tax training sessions

We have annual training for associates across the country. I also had grad training for just my office. This was not very useful but provided a broader understanding. I learnt some things from the training, but most real learning happens on the job by asking questions of seniors.

A number of formal training days throughout the year with focus on new accounting standards and implementation of new programs etc. Paid Chartered Accountants course with workshops held at the office for convenience.

Training very structured, not to my taste, staff have been very helpful

Company provides numerous technical and soft skills training on monthly basis.

Poor. 2 weeks of training where you have no idea, then straight into it. No explanation of what you're actually doing. Good thing you've prior year work to reflect on.

Grant Thornton's Melbourne Corporate Tax team are provided with in-depth training on a bi-weekly basis and are often sent to external training to continue to grow us in our fields.

There are a few training programs that they run however I do not find them that relevant or useful yet because it is not things that I do

I only attended one training which is the filing system training, I think it did help a lot and improved my working efficiency.

Externally provided via video and internal ongoing on the job.

I receive regular training which helps me to broaden my skills.

Lots of online modules and some in-house training.
