This company is excellent at diversity in terms of ethnic minorities, cultures and LGBT. There is a large female presence here. However, more needs to be done to ensure women and other minorities are moving into leadership positions. More needs to be done for women to progress higher.

Diversity can be a challenge in a technology focused department. There is good effort made in recruitment, child care and maternity leave to support diversity.

I've seen no blaring issues around diversity in the workplace.

As a female graduate we have been invited to several 'Women in Leadership' events where we can hear from successful women and network with them. I also know that for 2015 there is a focus on Gender and Indigenous diversity. As well as this there have been festivals for different cultural events, such as Ramadan and Chinese New Year, and free tickets to the opening screening of Gayby Baby. There is an on-site childcare, and parental leave is available to everyone.

Very diverse in this grad intake from all the above perspectives

Optus has recently put more effort into their diversity commitment, starting to host female diversity events for all levels of the company. There is also a strong LGBT focus and so many different types of leave for different situations employees face. There is an onsite child care centre and gym and parental leave for mothers and fathers.

Many many leave options give flexibility with family life. There is a child care centre on site, people from all walks of life are working in Optus. There is a great mix of gender, different ethnic groups and people of different convictions.

Excellent - ethnic diversity is celebrated and makes the workplace interesting - diverse range of opinions and perspectives bring a lot of value

Apart from senior leadership team, which comprises of mostly men (of various nationalities) and some women, the rest of the population of Optus is quite diverse. I have not observed any sort of discrimination in terms of recruitment and retention. Optus is one of the most multicultural workplaces I have worked. Maternity leave is around 12 months, and they guarantee your job at the end of it. Child care facilities exist with an on-campus day care. Promotion is not biased, apart from senior leadership (executives and managing directors, which are predominantly male, but also diverse in terms of nationality). I have also seen a lot of people take career breaks of up to 6 months and still have a job guaranteed when they come back.

Diversity is very important to the core values of Optus and in all aspects Optus is very well diversified, the only part where it is not is in the SLT where it's members primarily comprise of men, which is not very diverse.
