Culture at Hall & Wilcox

9.5
9.5 rating for Culture, based on 11 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
While there is a hierarchy in the firm, it is not reflected in how they treat individuals. The hours are reasonable and the firm encourages a work-life balance.

Honestly, I haven't experienced a law firm like this. Particularly the Newcastle office - everyone is super friendly and seems to care. There are few instances where people "pull rank" or belittle more junior staff. There are plenty of opportunities to be involved in firm life whether that's through participating in pro bono and community activities or staff drinks, staff BBQs, fitness and well-being activities etc. It's a great work environment and not somewhere you dread coming to each day.

We have a very flat structure at the firm. I am just as likely to chat about my weekend with a fellow junior lawyer or legal assistant as I am with a Partner. Everyone is friendly and willing to give you the time of day. I socialize with colleagues both in and outside of the office.
