To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:

A candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must comply with the Higher Degree Research Regulations.

An applicant for admission to candidature for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must have completed one of the following:

1. an appropriate undergraduate degree with Honours at a minimum level of Second Class Division A (Distinction average) or equivalent; or
2. a master's degree with appropriate research training in a relevant field; or
3. an equivalent qualification and/or demonstrated research experience, with evidence of capacity to undertake independent research work (eg an authored publication).

The candidate's potential to undertake research, the quality and feasibility of the research proposal, the availability of appropriate supervision and the referee's reports will all be taken into consideration. Admission into this course is subject to supervision and resource availability. Students already enrolled in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) who have completed Year 1 with a Distinction average across all subjects and were admitted to the Master with a minimum of Second Class Honours - Division A (HIIA) or equivalent may be eligible to transfer to the combined degree.

Applicants must first contact the School of Behavioural and Health Sciences to explore potential research areas, identify a potential PhD supervisor and write a brief research proposal.
