At a minimum, all applicants must meet program-specific academic/non-academic requirements, and English language requirements. Admission to most ANU programs is on a competitive basis. Therefore, meeting all admission requirements does not automatically guarantee entry. 

Applicants must present a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5/7

a Bachelor degree at pass mark, GPA 4/7 or international equivalent with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Relevant work experience would include a position held over at least two years that required a sound understanding of the practice or theory of international law and / or diplomacy.

In line with the university's admissions policy and strategic plan, an assessment for admission may include competitively ranking applicants on the basis of specific academic achievement, English language proficiency and diversity factors. 

Academic achievement & English language proficiency

The minimum academic requirement for full entry and enrolment is a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0. 

However, applicants will first be ranked on a GPA ('GPA1') that is calculated using all but the last semester (or equivalent) of the Bachelor degree used for admission purposes. 

If required, ranking may further be confirmed on the basis of: 

• a GPA ('GPA2') calculated on the penultimate and antepenultimate semesters (or equivalent) of the Bachelor degree used for admission purposes; and/or

• demonstrating higher-level English language proficiency. 

Prior to enrolment in this ANU program, all students who gain entry will have their Bachelor degree reassessed, to confirm minimum requirements were met.

Unless otherwise indicated, where an applicant has more than one completed tertiary qualification, ANU will calculate the GPA for each qualification separately. ANU will base assessment on the best GPA of all completed tertiary qualifications of the same level or higher.

·        Applicants will be expected to submit a portfolio, and participate in an interview process as detailed on the 3A Institute website (www.3ainstitute.org); and

·        a Bachelor degree with honours or international equivalent, or higher qualification, and GPA of 5/7; or

·        A Graduate Diploma of Applied Cybernetics or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5/7; or

·        A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5/7 and a minimum of 3 years full-time, relevant work experience; or

·        GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), completed no more than 5 years before the time of application, with a minimum score of 600 (minimum 5.0 in Analytical Writing) and a minimum of 3 years full-time, relevant work experience; or

·        GRE General test, completed no more than 5 years before the time of application, with a minimum score of 155 for Verbal Reasoning, 155 for Quantitative Reasoning and 4.0 in Analytical Writing and a minimum of 3 years full-time, relevant work experience; or

Applicants who have completed a degree in a relevant discipline may be eligible to receive credit in line with the ANU Graduate Coursework Award Rules towards their Master of Applied Cybernetics degree.

All initial enquiries for admission to this award should be directed to the Admissions team, in the Dean’s Office, Tsinghua University.

Entry into this program will be assessed by the following process:

1. All applicants who meet the criteria below will be shortlisted in order of receipt of application.

Either

a) An Australian Bachelors degree (or recognised international equivalent) plus 5 years work experience, including a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated management experience.

Or

b) Applicants without a Bachelors degree (may possess a 4 year Graduation Diploma, an adult education (correspondence or online or open universities) Graduation Diploma or higher education self-taught examination Graduation Diploma), are required to have 10 years of work experience, plus a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated management experience.

Or

c) A 3 year Associate degree plus at least 10 years work experience, including a minimum of 7 years of demonstrated management experience.

Or

d) Students who do not meet the above criteria but who have 15 years of work experience, including 10 years of demonstrated management experience.

Plus both of the below:

• A personal statement; of length no more than 1 A4 page. This statement should clearly outline the applicant’s 5 year career goals as well as their experience in management, entrepreneurship and innovation.

• Two referees, who will be contacted for further information if applicant is shortlisted.

2. Shortlisted applicants are then interviewed by a panel constituted of two Tsinghua and two ANU members.

3. Shortlisted applicants are required to complete a 90 minute, invigilated, written exam, designed to test management skills and daily management experience.

4. Applicants who achieve a score of 60% or higher in the interview and 50% or higher in the exam are offered places in the program on a rolling basis, up to the desired cohort size.

5. The ANU has oversight of the admission process and makes the final decision on admission.

6. All applicants will have access to ANU appeals processes.

1. An ATAR of 82 or an equivalent rank derived from an Australian Year 12 qualification or international equivalent

A minimum of 12 units from completion of non-language courses listed in the Bachelor of Asian Studies

Places are limited in each study-destination country. Applicants will be ranked on the following criteria:

• Demonstrated ability in the language of the destination country
• ANU GPA

A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with an APAC accredited sequence of courses in Psychology

1.   with GPA of at least 5/7 

2.   Successful assessment of suitability based on interview and 2 referee reports

Where ranking of applications is required, the GPA will be used to determine the selection rank.

All applicants must meet the University’s English Language Admission Requirements for Students

Students must satisfy the progression requirements of provisional registration or equivalent with the Psychology Board of Australia before progressing to the final 48 units.

Students who do not satisfy the progression requirements of provisional registration or equivalent with the Psychology Board of Australia will be transferred to graduate from the Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology.

This program has a quota on places due to availability of supervision. 50% of places will be reserved for ANU undergraduate students. 10% of places will be reserved for Indigenous applicants and will be awarded if there are suitable applicants and the opportunities for accessing professional scholarships will be explored.

Applicants with an AQF 8 Graduate Diploma or Honours degree with an APAC accredited sequence of courses in Psychology may be eligible for up to 48 units (one year) of credit.

Applicants who are deemed eligible for the full 48 units of credit will also need to satisfy the progression requirements of provisional registration or equivalent with the Psychology Board of Australia as an admission requirement.

Due to the highly structured nature of this program, it is highly recommended that this program should be taken full-time. Part-time enrolment should be negotiated with the Program Convener and would require part-time with a minimum of two courses per semester, taken in the order prescribed by the Research School of Psychology.

To be admitted to the Master of Philosophy program you will be required to have completed at least a three-year Australian undergraduate degree or equivalent with a result of at least H2A.

You may be granted admission if you can demonstrate that you have research experience equivalent to these qualifications, for example, through postgraduate study.

Students must achieve a minimum 70% weighted average mark in the initial 48 units of coursework and have the approval of the supervisor for the research project to continue to the research component.
