My employer expects each employee to participate in community projects and encourages involvement in extracurricular charities. They also run fundraisers for popular foundations such as Beyond Blue and Cancer Council.

Culture
Office hours are flexible, everyone comes in around 8:30-9am and leaves from 4:30pm onwards, after hours is appreciated if needed to hit a deadline. As long as you are doing all your work and doing it well no one really watches the clock, it is all about attitude. The culture is very supportive, you are encouraged to ask questions. People usually have lunch at their desks or in the communal table in their pods but occasionally will go out for team lunches. Drinks and getting together for celebration of achievements happen ad hoc but semi-regularly in the marketing/customer marketing department. Generally people are very friendly and want to get to know you beyond work and work life balance is encouraged by line managers, working from home is always an option if you need it and can be trusted to use the time appropriately.

Diversity
Our business has a 70 - 30 split men - women in our business and most of the senior positions are white men in their 40-50's, there is also some stigma around being 'old enough' to hold certain positions. I believe most of this is a legacy of the past 20 or so years and they are actively trying to diversify, bullying is not tolerated here and I believe the culture is to accept everyone and respect their views, there is a part of our contract that we sign to not discriminate based on ethnicity, gender, religion, ethics etc. More women have joined the organisation, especially in senior business roles in the last few years - so this is positive change rather than the legacy. There are examples of relatively young people managing large portfolios in senior roles, as long as they have the right skills, knowledge and experience. They are well supported.

I am in charge of coordinating and distributing national internal communications from head office marketing and sales teams out to the field teams (reps and store staff in both trade and retail businesses), I also develop demonstration material for our reps to train in store team members on our products.

Management
9.0 / 10 All managers (even senior managers) are extremely accessible to all employees, including grads. There is little separation between employees at different stages, and you will work closely with very experienced people regularly. Communication is very open, and constructive feedback is given freely.

Currently I am on graduate salary. Due to this I feel I put in a lot more hours than what I am paid for however I do love my job and I know the opportunities that will arise.

Training could improve. There are a lot of processes that have a "sink or swim" attitude related to them. I think this is the area which needs the most focus within DuluxGroup.

Company is super flexible. No expectation to work overtime unless a task must be completed. Flexible to start late etc.

Considering we are a large manufacturer and produce / use chemicals that are harmful to the environment, I don't think our company puts enough emphasis on being green (or promoting it, anyway). I think this definitely needs improvement.
