A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0

Students must complete the pre-sessional component to continue to the initial component. Students must complete all courses in the initial component and achieve a minimum 50% weighted average mark to continue to the concluding component. Students who do not complete all courses in the initial component or do not achieve a minimum 50% weighted average mark in the initial component will be transferred to the Graduate Diploma of Public Policy.

Applications for course credit
Applicants with a Bachelor Degree or Graduate Certificate in a cognate discipline may be eligible for up to 24 units (one semester) of credit. Applicants with a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor degree with Honours in a cognate discipline may be eligible for up to 48 units (one year) of credit. Credit may also be available for relevant work experience.

A weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU 70 per cent calculated from the 36 units (i.e. 0.75 EFTSL) of courses in the major cognate to the honours specialisation, excluding 1000-level courses (i.e. introductory undergraduate courses), with the highest marks

Written approval of an identified supervisor for the thesis

And the satisfaction of any admission requirements listed in the relevant honours specialisation

ANU offers rank adjustments for a number of adjustment factors, including for high achievement in nationally strategic senior secondary subjects and for recognition of difficult circumstances that students face in their studies. Rank adjustments are applied to Bachelor degree applicants with an ATAR at or above 70. Points are awarded in accordance with the approved schedules, and no more than 15 points (maximum 5 subject/performance-based adjustments, maximum 10 equity-based adjustments and maximum 5 Elite Athlete adjustments) will be awarded. To be admitted to the Master of Philosophy program you will be required to have completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with at least upper second class Honours or equivalent and demonstrate the capacity to undertake independent research
